Lagos Depot Truck Entry to Stop at 5pm Over Security Concerns

The Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD) branch of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has directed its members to stop depot operations by 6:00 p.m. daily and barred truck entry into depots from 5:00 p.m., citing rising cases of armed robbery and truck hijacking along highways.

The directive followed a meeting held at Ibeto, after which the Lagos Union Zonal leadership instructed members to observe the new operating hours.

The restrictions are intended to protect drivers, trucks and petroleum products from security threats, particularly during late hours.

Depot operators, transporters and other affected parties have been advised to comply with the directive.
